Global ECMWF Fire Forecasting (GEFF) model

Description & Technical Information


GEFF is the modelling component of the European Forest Fire Integrated Forecasting System (EFFIS). It integrates three rating systems: the Canadian FWI, the Australian Mark 5 and the American NFDRS. Outputs are generated in terms of fire danger indices that are then distributed to the EFFIS network and already used among the European civil protections.
