Pilot Sites

Seven operational platforms to support the decision-making processes to better tackle weather-induced emergencies has been implemented, tested and demonstrated in 7 Pilot Sites. These achievement demonstrates the capability of the developed prototypes to work “anywhere” in Europe and be easily adapted to new locations / environments.

  • The scenarios for the pilot tests have been chosen on the basis of their diversity (geographic size, orography, population density, most common meteorological risks)

  • The operational platforms have been developed according to the needs of the different Pilot Sites: Catalonia (Spain), Genoa / Liguria region (Italy-France), South Savo (Finland), Bern Canton-Alps (Switzerland), Rogaland (Norway) and Corsica (France) at regional level. Spain at country level

  • Each Pilot Site has different tools and procedures but linked in a common system to enhance the anticipation and the emergency management of high-impact weather induced events
