A4Lig

A4Lig is the implementation of the A4EU platform for Liguria. This tool is based on the DEWETRA technology operationally developed for and used by the Italian Civil Protection Department.

A4Lig provides the capacity of early-warning detection and proactive decision-making when facing extreme weather-related emergencies. This allows the CDG (Comune di Genova) and ARPAL (Agenzia Regionale per la Protezione dell’Ambiente Ligure) to better manage such events, minimizing losses and saving lives.

The main hazards in our territory are linked to flash-floods, waves and fires. Using the platform we want to improve our knowledge about these type of risks. We can add information about hazards, exposure and vulnerability, so for the first time we can have the impact scenario and we think this could be an important improvement in our job.”

Some of it is major operational capabilities are:

  • Connection to data available from different sources (from local to European).

  • Capacity to cross the hazard impact forecasting products served by the ANYWHERE Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (MH-EWS) with high resolution impact models.

  • Combination with regional layers of exposure and vulnerability.
