ANYWHERE project will be present at the Security Research Event 2019 in Helsinki

The ANYWHERE project has been selected to participate to the Security Research Event (SRE 2019), the annual meeting where industry, governments and research institutions are gathered to discuss the state of the art and current challenges for security research in Europe. Organised by the European Commission, together with the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the current edition will be held at the Helsinki Congress Paasitorni in Helsinki, Finland, from 6th to 7th November 2019.
Under the motto “Building Bridges: Promoting Market Uptake by Reinforcing Synergies Between Security Research and Other Funding Instruments”, the primary aim of the SRE 2019 is promote the collaboration between different funding instruments to achieve a successful market uptake of the positive outcomes of security research.
Details on how the outcomes derived from the ANYWHERE project tested operationally in 7 pilot sites can make a substantial contribution in the field of risk management will be highlighted.
On the second day of the event, Dr. Sempere-Torres, coordinator of the ANYWHERE (as well as project director of CRAHI – Centre of Applied Research in Hydrometeorology of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech) will participate in the thematic panel covering the issue “Integrating Needs of Disaster Risk Management Policies”. Details on how the outcomes derived from the ANYWHERE project tested operationally in 7 pilot sites can make a substantial contribution in this field will be highlighted.
An audience of 400 participants it is foreseen, representing a wide range of security stakeholders: researchers, industry representatives, public security providers and practitioners, as well as policy-makers from across Europe.
In the exhibition area, developments related to the topic will be showcased. In the case of ANYWHERE, visitors will be able to discover the tools and services for faster analysis and anticipation of weather-induced risks prior to event occurrence developed within the project execution.
