ANYWHERE project will showcase its major outcomes in its Final Conference in Brussels

The ANYWHERE project ends in December 2019 after four years of development of cutting-edge operational support tools and impact forecasting products/services to better forecast and manage the impacts of extreme weather-induced events. Therefore, the project is currently organizing its Final Conference to be held in Brussels (Belgium) at the SQUARE Brussels Convention Centre on 29th-30th October, with the aim of showcasing the major outcomes to an interested audience.

The Final Conference will include a Hands-on demonstration (29th October 2019) and the Final Workshop (30th October 2019), intended for both project partners and external organisations, plus the 9th Project Meeting (31st October), exclusively for project partners and the Advisory Board members.

The Hands-on demonstration will be the occasion for interested potential users to explore the operational platforms developed for decision-support currently running in real-time in 7 pilot sites across Europe. The platforms integrate state-of-the-art forecasting products for a variety of hazards (floods, flash-floods, snowfall, convective storms, severe winds, heatwaves, forest wildfires, droughts, marine storms, among others).

The project advancements and operational tools and products will be showcased during the Final Workshop. Round tables to promote discussion among participants will be combined with interactive live exhibits. This will be an opportunity to discuss them with the external institutions including the Stakeholders and the Commercial Associates of the project, as well as other first responders, policy makers and professionals of the disaster risk management sector.
